Manually catching adverse conditions, finding open crew dates, and coordinating new times with homeowners is chaotic and costly. The planner watches the weather and drives the reschedule for them.

Overview

The Smart Weather Delay Planner connects to a company's job dates and cross-references storm and weather data. When scheduling, it shows which days are clear of adverse weather. It continuously monitors scheduled jobs and, when a storm threatens one, notifies the managing agent with reschedule options based on crew availability. It can automatically contact the homeowner on file by text with date options and reschedule the job once a new date is chosen.

Runs scheduled weather monitoring with cron jobs, computes reschedule options against a crew-availability constraint, and coordinates via automated SMS and email. Uses Anthropic for AI assistance and Stripe for subscription billing.

How it is built

A React and Vite frontend (with charts) talks to a Node.js/Express backend using Prisma over PostgreSQL. Node-cron drives monitoring, Twilio sends SMS, SendGrid sends email, Anthropic provides AI, and Stripe handles billing.
